Responsible for project coordination and management,
scheduling, budget tracking, and client interface. Previous experience
in a translation company is required. Knowledge of one or more
foreign languages is a plus. Special consideration will be given
to candidates with a strong computer background, including DTP
programs such as FrameMaker, PageMaker, and Quark, and familiarity
with Trados Translator's Workbench.
Essential Job Duties:
- Receive and evaluate source files.
- Select, schedule and manage the translation team.
- Keep complete and accurate records of every phase and
aspect of projects.
- Pre-process source files and post-process translated
files including word counts,
file format conversion, text extraction, graphics editing and
layout.
- Quality assurance inspection of all files in process
to insure that file viability,
completeness, formatting, and character display are maintained
throughout the production process.
- Delivery of complete, defect-free files to the client
on time and within budget.
Active participation in ISO 9001:2000 compliance.
Experience:
- Two years in a production environment
- Two years' computer experience
- Two or more years in the translation industry preferred,
but not essential
